Military Ministry of Cameroon

Posted in: International

Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said, “God does not give us everything we want, but He does fulfill His promises, leading us along the best and straightest paths to Himself.”

One specific promise the LORD is fulfilling is the opportunity to join with an increasing number of communities to care for and disciple the military in their midst. One such community is developing in Limbe, Cameroon. The Military Ministry of Cameroon is helping local pastors and lay-leaders there to share the courage and comfort that comes in a relationship with Christ. Limbe is where the military of Cameroon trains soldiers that will soon be deployed to the frontline fight against terror group, Boko Haram.

In a recent outreach, our team used the “Jesus Film” to introduce Christ to these troops. The local team and volunteers had an opportunity to share their personal testimonies. For these recruits, who will soon be facing the crucible of combat to protect their nation from the forces of evil that are far too prevalent in this region of the world, this outreach was the LORD’s “best and straightest paths to Himself!” During the three-day outreach over 600 young recruits accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. As exciting as this was, our team was just as excited to train four additional instructors to lead the follow-up from this work. Having been invited back, our Military Ministry Cameroon team is currently working with local churches and pastors to recruit more volunteers to train for follow-up after their next outreach there.

Please join us in praying that God will continue to move on the hearts of those that will soon find themselves standing in “harm’s way” for their nation and citizens and that He will use us all in raising up local volunteers to show others the “straightest path” to the Lord
