Welcoming Cru Military’s New Executive Director

On December 2, 2022, Cru Military, the military ministry of Cru will have a ceremony welcoming Brig Gen David Phillips, USAF (Ret) as the new Executive Director. Col Daryl Jones, USAF (Ret) and Lt Col Martha Stevenson-Jones, will be handing over their Interim Executive Director leadership responsibilities and will continue to serve in the role of Global Directors for Cru Military.

Lt Gen Jeff Oster, USMC (Ret), Executive Committee Chairman, would like to invite you to join us for this very special Change of Leadership Ceremony at 11 am (EST)/ 1600 UTC, at Freedom Life Church in Hampton, Virginia.

Who is Brig Gen David Phillips USAF (Ret)?

Brigadier General David G. Phillips, Jr. retired, with 31 years service, from the Virginia Air National Guard and the Air National Guard of the United States in June of 2002. In his last assignment, the General served as the Deputy Director, Air National Guard (ANG) Forces, Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC), Langley AFB, Virginia. This Directorate, ACC/CG, is responsible to the Commander of ACC and the Air Directorate of the National Guard Bureau (NGB), Washington, D.C., for developing, assessing, and coordinating headquarters plans, policies, programs and procedures affecting support of the ACC gained ANG forces. ACC/CG is further responsible for the functional management of the ANG Team Langley integrated staff program. In 2010 David began serving with the military ministry of Cru, where he served as Ministry Advancement Director, responsible for ministry fundraising, marketing, brand management, and external communication until his appointment this fall as the new Executive Director of Cru Military.


Who are Col Daryl Jones, USAF (Ret) & Lt Col Martha Stevenson-Jones?

Dr. Daryl Jones and Martha Stevenson-Jones have been the Global Directors of Military Ministry of Cru since November of 2009. Their work is to bring the gospel to the worldwide military community through movements in over 35 nations.Daryl and Martha are both 1982 graduates of the U.S. Air Force Academy. Each of them completed successful 20+ year flying careers in the Air Force before retiring in 2003 and accepting the call into full-time ministerial work. Both have completed master’s degrees in administration from Central Michigan University and Daryl has also completed a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from Regent University. They have been married 38 years and have three adult children.
