Thanksgiving Devotion: Thanking God for giving you His Unending Love

Posted in: Stories

Week 1

There are so many things in our lives we could verbally thank God for. I’m sure at a celebration meal for Thanksgiving, you have said, “Thank you, God, for my family, my job situation, my good health, my safe and warm home,” and so much more.

When we reflect on those things we are grateful for, they have one thing in common: they failed us at some point in life. Your family, even the best of them, will let you down. A job is not always fulfilling. Your health may have had setbacks. And your home has held its fair share of disagreements and disappointments.

The only thing that has never failed us, not even once, is God’s love for us.

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Mark 12:30 tells us that as believers, we are called to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. When we dwell on the fact that nothing will ever separate us from God’s love, that call becomes easier to follow. God loves us, we love Him back, with everything we have. It really is that simple!

REFLECTION:

Have you thanked God today for His unending love?
