Thanksgiving Devotion: Thanking God for giving you His Word

Posted in: Stories

Week 4

One of the ways we can show God how much we are thankful for Him is by how we manage our minds. This concept is a rather huge task as there is so much outside stimulation with the technology today. We have so many different devices, so many different types of games to play, so many social media apps to look at for hours on end – the list is endless.

Because we are made in the image of God, we have a mind that helps us in so many purposeful ways to live and conduct our lives. It is important to note that our minds should regularly study God’s Word so we know how to make Godly choices. It is so important to cast aside those thoughts that will take us away from having a life filled with real joy that comes from the Lord.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

When we commit to setting our minds on God’s Word, we will be replacing any gray areas with the light of the Word of God. When we take the time to study God’s Word every day, we are being offered a life that can be full of joy, hope, laughter, and truth. The study of God’s Word will guide our thoughts and give us the power to say “no” to those things that could separate us from God. God wants us to have a life of peace and become everything He has created us to be.
