Thanksgiving Devotion: Thanking God for giving you His Strength

Posted in: Stories

Week 5

There are so many reasons we can lose any race we have to run. If you are an athlete and don’t train, eat well and rest properly, then you might not have your best performance. If you are a student and don’t go to class, study the material and do the research, then you might not do well on your exams.

If you are a believer and don’t spend time studying the Bible, praying for His will and thanking Him for every gift, then you are being deceived by Satan. He does not want us to think about turning to the Lord for help every time we face a challenge.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” Psalm 28:7

We need to get in the habit of always turning to the Lord first because He is always there waiting for us to say, “Lord, I am weary and can’t do this by myself anymore. I need your help!”

As we contemplate this season of being thankful for what God has given us, let us also express it out loud to Him every day with very specific items we may never have thanked Him for in the past.

REFLECTION:

Have you thanked God today for giving you His strength?

If you missed them, go here for Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, and Week 4
